Bamboo Silva Pavilion (2019)

A bamboo pavilion proposal to be included the Waterloo Park Arboretum development plan. This pavilion is lightweight, easy to construct, airy and mimics the feeling of a bamboo forest in an already existing forest. With so much surrounding the site, the pavilion elevates you upwards and encourages the view of the sky with the opened to above central area.

Using the principles of biomimicry, the shape takes the form of a seashell to provide for a strong frame and complex interior. It is a both space for socializing and gathering and a sculpture that plays with the light and air.

Created using: AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, V-Ray, and Rhino
